TRACE Day Rehabilitation Services Program (Year 1)

TRACE's goal is to provide an alternative program which provides treatment, supervision and education to juvenile wards or dependents of the court that are being returned to the community from out-of-home care or the juvenile hall, and/or are at imminent risk of out-of-home placement.
    TRACE services will provide:

  1. The amelioration and/or elimination of the symptoms and maladaptive behaviors which often necessitate treatment at a higher level of care and disrupt stable community-based levels of care
  2. The attainment of age-appropriate levels of functioning which will permit full integration into the public school and community setting
  3. Improvement of the ability to function/cope with environmental stressors in the home, school, and community

TRACE will serve a maximum of 20 youths at any one time. Average stay is estimated at 6 to 12 months. It is a year-round program.

Training is to be provided during the spring of 1997; the program is to be fully operational by August 1997.
