Tehama County HIV/AIDS Education & Prevention is proud to serve as the local Coordinating Agency for Positively Speaking. Positively Speaking is a statewide program that trains persons infected/affected by HIV to present their personal experiences to schools and other groups. Presenters receive 16 hours of specialized training including basic facts about HIV disease, school district policies and legal issues concerning HIV/AIDS instruction, and presenting prevention messages that support behavioral change. To schedule a presentation from program staff or Positively Speaking, call (530) 527-6824. HIV continues to infect individuals in Tehama County. You can help prevent transmission by learning more about it. For current and comprehensive information, visit the California AIDS Clearinghouse's HIV Info webpage. Knowledge of your HIV status is an important part of HIV/AIDS prevention. If you are at risk, the only way to know your status is to get an HIV antibody test. The tests are free, confidential, and anonymous. Find out more about Tehama County's HIV antibody testing services.
