Welcome to the Public Health Division

Mission Statement
Tehama County Health Services Agency, Public Health Division, is an official government health care organization comprised of Public Health Nurses, Registered Nurses, Public Health Educators, Health Educator Assistants, Drug & Alcohol Counselors, Registered Dieticians, WIC Nutrition Aides, and clerical Support Staff. Through community assessment, policy development, health education and assurance of availability of effective services, Public Health responds to meet the community's needs. Public Health is responsible for protecting and promoting health, and preventing disease and injury in the community.

The Public Health Division respects each individual's right to basic health care services.  The philosophy is to maintain sensitivity to the moral and ethical standards of others, without regard to or discrimination of nationality, sex, color, religion, or lifestyle.

By law, Public Health must follow Federal, State and Local mandates designed to protect the public's health.  The distinct and unique features of Public Health include responsibilities to protect the community as a whole, and to provide services in homes and community settings.  The Public Health Division assumes a leadership role and coordinates with the community to achieve a common goal of optimal health for all citizens.
