Philosophy Statement

As Sisters of Mercy, in partnership with others, we participate in the tradition of Catherine McAuley to seek to relieve misery and to address its causes either through direct service or indirectly through influence.

We believe...

  • in the healing ministry of Christ as an essential part of the Church's mission in contemporary society;
  • in the sacredness of all life, and therefore in the dignity of the human person and the promotion of human wholeness;
  • in the spirit of mercy that cares for the suffering and the dying;
  • in a spirit of hospitality that welcomes all in need;
  • in the rights of all persons to quality healthcare and our responsibility to act as advocates for the poor and those with special needs;
  • in the stewardship of resources for the enhancement of human life and all creation;
  • in a climate of mutual support, compassion, care and justice for those serving within our organization;
  • in collaboration with others who support Judeo-Christian values in developing a creative response to need;
  • in the values and principles of the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services.

Mission Statement

CHW North State is a division of Catholic Healthcare West, a multi-congregational, co-sponsored system. In collaboration with others, our mission is to affirm the dignity of the human person and promote healing and wellness through the provision of compassionate, quality, cost-effective healthcare to the communities we serve, especially the poor.

In carrying out our mission, our policies integrate and reflect the public interest in meeting our responsibilities as a not-for-profit organization.

Vision

To be a collaborative leader in a pre-eminent regional healthcare delivery system motivated by a passion to repond to the needs of those we server and a commitment to improve the health of our communities.

Core Values

Dignity Respecting the inherent value and worth each person possesses as a member of the human family.
Collaboration Working together with people who support common values and vision to achieve shared goals.
Justice Advocating for change of social structures that undermine human dignity, demonstrating special concern for the poor.
Stewardship Cultivating the resource entrusted to our care as we promote healing and wholeness.
Excellence A shared commitment to exceed expected results in our work and services through teamwork and innovation.
